Occupation Army: We carried out an unusual operation through the air force in Khan Younis
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation army stated that "it carried out an unusual operation through the air force this morning in the humanitarian zone of Khan Younis."
It "intervened in an internal conflict in Gaza, and attacked Hamas elements who had attacked the Al-Majayda family, affiliated with Fatah," according to claims by the occupation army's radio.
The occupation army said in its statement, "In recent days, there has been an internal conflict between Hamas elements and the Al-Majayda family residing in Khan Younis. In this conflict, family members shot at Hamas elements, killing some and abducting several others, while Hamas in turn attacked family members and killed them."
It added: "This morning, the Khan Younis Brigade, the military wing of Hamas, launched a planned and organized operation against the family, aiming to eliminate several of its senior officers. Groups of armed Hamas elements were positioned around the family's homes in Khan Younis and attacked them from multiple directions with RPGs and mortar shells."
Unusually - and in an official statement as well - the Israeli army acknowledges its involvement in the conflict on behalf of the Al-Majayda clan according to SadaNews translation, and Hamas elements were attacked from the air using aircraft. According to the Israeli army, "Hamas elements were eliminated."
