Hezbollah on the Anniversary of Nasrallah's Martyrdom: We Will Not Abandon Our Weapons
SadaNews - While thousands of Hezbollah supporters gathered in Beirut, near the grave of its former Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah on Saturday to commemorate the first anniversary of his assassination, the party's Secretary-General Naim Qassem reiterated that the group "will not abandon its weapons."
He also added that disarming Hezbollah means stripping Lebanon of its strength, asserting that "the party will confront this goal that serves Israel in a Karbala-like struggle," as he put it.
In a televised speech broadcast to the crowd, Qassem stated that the party "is living in a time of victories for its cause," according to his expression.
He also pointed out that Hezbollah has been able to withstand and prevent Israel from achieving its goals, despite the harsh Israeli strikes.
"Rebuilding its Capabilities"
He noted that the group faced "a global war with the support of Israeli tools and unlimited American and European backing, aimed at ending the resistance, but the party has rebuilt its leadership and continued the battle," as he expressed.
Furthermore, Qassem announced that the party is rebuilding its capabilities, advancing, and is ready and present to defend against Israel.
He claimed that "the U.S., through its envoy Tom Barak, who incites the army against Hezbollah, wants to eliminate Lebanon and integrate it with Israel."
He urged the government to "fulfill its duties and reconstruct the villages of the South, instead of being preoccupied with other matters."
Finally, he confirmed that the party is keen on national unity, "provided that all Lebanese stand in one trench against Israel," according to his statement.
