Hamas: Netanyahu is responsible for obstructing an agreement and his desire to control Gaza is an illusion that will not be realized

SadaNews - Hamas: Netanyahu is responsible for obstructing the reaching of an agreement and his desire to control Gaza is an illusion that will not be realized. Hamas stated: "If he were truly concerned about his prisoners, he would have stopped his brutal bombing, genocidal massacres, and the destruction of Gaza City, but he lies and continues to expose them to death." (Gettyimages) Hamas said following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the United Nations General Assembly that he is "solely responsible for obstructing the reaching of an agreement" to end the war on Gaza, and described his announcement regarding his desire to control the Gaza Strip as "a pure illusion that will not be realized." In a statement issued this Friday evening, it noted that "it is ironic that a war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court is allowed to lecture at the United Nations about justice, humanity, and rights, while he violates them daily in Gaza." Hamas mentioned that "his repeated lies and blatant denial of the crimes of genocide, forced displacement, and systematic starvation committed by him and his fascist army against our people in Gaza will not change the established facts documented by international and UN reports." It added that "Netanyahu's repeated black propaganda and lies about the events of October 7 are nothing but a retreat after this misleading propaganda collapsed under global public opinion, while the term 'anti-Semitism' has become a worn-out excuse on which he hangs his rejection of international positions condemning the genocide and starvation he has committed for 23 months." Hamas pointed out that "his attempts to feign concern for his captives and his ridiculous display of claiming to address them via loudspeakers embody a sick colonial mentality. He is solely responsible for obstructing an agreement that ensures their release, through his stubbornness and insistence on continuing aggression, and his reversal of the agreement signed last January, along with his failed attempt to assassinate the negotiating delegation in Qatar, the international mediator. If he were truly concerned about his captives, he would have stopped his brutal bombing, genocidal massacres, and the destruction of Gaza City, but he lies and continues to expose them to death." It said, "His false justifications for continuing his aggression against Gaza City and his claim that there are militants in the targeted buildings are merely a deceptive cover to conceal described war crimes and crimes against humanity committed daily against children and innocent civilians. Moreover, his claim that Hamas seeks to kill Jews worldwide is part of his systematic campaign to demonize the Palestinian people and their legitimate national resistance; the movement and the Palestinian resistance have consistently affirmed that their battle is limited to the occupation oppressing our land and holy sites, until our Palestinian people can exercise their right to self-determination." In connection Netanyahu at the General Assembly: Hamas must lay down its arms and return the captives immediately to end the war. Hamas continued, "What Netanyahu announced regarding his desire to control the Gaza Strip and establish a 'puppet government' there is an illusion that will not be realized, and our Palestinian people, who have always proven their resilience and rejection of all forms of guardianship and dependency, will not allow it." It noted that "the boycotting of Netanyahu's speech by the majority of the delegations reflects the depth of the international isolation surrounding Netanyahu and his rogue entity, and the growing global solidarity with our Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state, which represents the fruit of its sacrifices and just struggle against the occupation." Hamas concluded its statement by saying, "The establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital is an inherent, inalienable right that will not be diminished by the crimes of the occupier or its fascist policies. Our people are committed to their land and will remain on the path of liberation and return until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital."
