For the third consecutive day.. Open and comprehensive strike in kindergartens and schools in the village of Tarabin in the Negev

SadaNews - The open and comprehensive strike in all kindergartens and schools in the village of Tarabin al-San'a in the Negev area, southern Israel, continues for the third consecutive day, three weeks after the start of the school year.

The local committee in Tarabin al-San'a announced on Sunday, the day before yesterday, the beginning of an open and comprehensive strike in all kindergartens and schools in the village.

This decision was made in protest against what the local committee in Tarabin al-San'a described as "the ongoing neglect by the Qessem Regional Council, manifested in the acute shortage of classrooms, and the deterioration of maintenance and cleanliness operations in educational institutions."

For his part, Qessem Regional Council member Abdul Basit al-Tarabin stated that "the neglect of the village in general and educational institutions in particular is ongoing by the council's management, specifically those responsible for the education system, as none of them have visited the schools and kindergartens in the village for years."

He emphasized that "in addition to the great shortage of classrooms, we suffer from the lack of repairs for damages that pose a real danger to the lives of students, teaching staff, and parents alike. We have approached the council repeatedly, but to no avail, and we have received no response or cooperation from them."

The local committee in Tarabin al-San'a stressed that "the strike will continue until all demands are met, all pending issues are resolved, and radical solutions are put in place to develop the education sector in the village, ensuring a safe and suitable learning environment for students in the village."

For its part, the Qessem Regional Council stated that "we are working diligently to address the shortage, as the budget has been approved and implementation has begun, and we are giving the highest priority to providing a suitable educational environment for all students."
