Ambassador Hadi Shibli Receives the Media Professionalism Award from the "Wafa" Agency at the "UNA" Forum in Jeddah

SadaNews - Ambassador Hadi Shibli, the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, participated in the Ramadan forum organized by the Union of News Agencies of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation "UNA" in Jeddah on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, corresponding to the 8th of Ramadan 1447 AH, celebrating the second anniversary of the adoption of the "Building Bridges Between Islamic Sects" document.

The forum also included participation from Second Secretary Ather Omari from the Permanent Mission of the State of Palestine, alongside several ambassadors, representatives of member states, and media and intellectual figures.

Ambassador Hadi Shibli received the first edition of the Media Professionalism Award, granted to the Palestinian News and Information Agency "Wafa", in recognition of its role in serving the Palestinian cause and conveying the voice of the Palestinian people to the world.

In his speech, Ambassador Hadi Shibli expressed the gratitude and appreciation of the State of Palestine to the Muslim World League represented by its Secretary-General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, and to the Union of News Agencies of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation "UNA" represented by Director General Mohammed bin Adrobeh Al-Yami. He affirmed that this award reflects UNAs recognition of the professional and national role played by the "Wafa" Agency in conveying the truth and highlighting the scale of the crimes and violations committed by the occupation against the Palestinian people, despite the limited resources and severe challenges it faces.

The ambassador also stressed that the award represents a clear message of support to the State of Palestine and its people amid the unprecedented circumstances in the occupied Palestinian territory, affirming that "Wafa" does not stand alone in fulfilling its mission, but finds alongside it the Union of News Agencies of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation that gives special attention to the Palestinian cause.

He conveyed the thanks of the State of Palestine, on behalf of the General Supervisor of Palestinian Official Media Minister Ahmad Assaf, to the Muslim World League and to the Union of News Agencies of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for this generous initiative that embodies the spirit of Islamic solidarity and support for Palestinian media.
