Trump Announces Targeting of a 'Drug Smuggling Boat' in the US Southern Command Area
SadaNews - Last night, US President Donald Trump announced that his forces targeted another drug smuggling boat in international waters, resulting in the deaths of three individuals.
Unlike previous attacks, Trump did not disclose whether the strike occurred off the coast of Venezuela, where the US Navy has deployed warships and submarines to combat drug trafficking.
Trump only mentioned that it took place under the command of the Southern Command, which includes Central and South America along with the Caribbean Sea, emphasizing that intelligence reports confirm the boat was carrying drugs bound for his country.
He noted that the bombing resulted in the deaths of 3 drug traffickers inside international waters, with no casualties reported among his forces.
Washington has not provided any details to support its claims that the targeted boats were involved in drug trafficking.
Venezuelan leftist President Nicolas Maduro accused the United States of seeking to change the regime in his country under the guise of a drug trafficking combat operation.
Trump previously stated that the US targeted three boats and killed 14 people as part of its campaign, but his administration has only released videos of two attacks.
