Reverse Migration Accelerates: Over 82,000 Left Israel Compared to Only 31,000 Immigrants
SadaNews Translation: The Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics announced today, Wednesday, that the population of Israel exceeded 10 million people upon the arrival of the Hebrew New Year 5775. Official data indicates that the population growth rate during the last Hebrew year was 1.2%, a noticeable decrease compared to the 1.6% rate of the previous year.
According to the report, in 2024, Israel experienced a decline in net migration, with more than 82,000 people leaving the country, compared to around 31,000 immigrants only arriving. This difference indicates a widening trend of reverse migration compared to 2023, which saw the arrival of 46,000 immigrants and the departure of about 55,000.
The data also revealed that more than 24,000 Israelis returned to Israel in 2024, compared to 28,000 who returned in the previous year.
