Internal Disagreements in Israel Regarding the Qatar Operation: Netanyahu Ignores Mossad Warnings
SadaNews - The Jerusalem Post revealed, citing knowledgeable sources, that there is a clear division among the heads of Israeli security agencies regarding the recent operation carried out in Qatar, which targeted leaders of the Hamas movement.
According to the report, the security cabinet was not informed in advance about the operation, but learned of it through the media, raising questions about the decision-making mechanisms within the Israeli government.
Sources clarified that the head of the Mossad did not oppose the operation in principle, but he expressed strong objections to its timing, considering that executing it while negotiations with Hamas are ongoing is an uncalculated step. He was quoted saying: "You cannot eliminate Hamas leaders while negotiations with them are still ongoing."
Despite this warning, Netanyahu insisted on moving forward, rejecting the Mossad's position, and confirmed that "the operation in Qatar will be carried out immediately," indicating his decisive decision to overlook the security reservations.
