The source explained that an Israeli airstrike targeted the Hamas leadership delegation in Doha while they were meeting to discuss the latest proposal from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. For its part, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in a statement the "cowardly Israeli attack that targeted residential premises of several members of Hamas's political bureau in Doha." The statement confirmed that this "criminal aggression is a violation of all international laws and a serious threat to the safety and security of Qataris and residents," stressing that the State of Qatar "will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behavior" or "any actions that target its security and sovereignty." Details of the assassination attempt The Israeli army announced in a statement that the air force "precisely attacked Hamas leaders" in a joint operation by the army and the internal security service (Shabak).
