Qatar Condemns Israel's Attack on Hamas Leaders in Doha
SadaNews - The State of Qatar condemned the Israeli attack that targeted residential premises of several members of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Doha, emphasizing that it will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behavior.
In a statement published by the spokesperson of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid Al-Ansari, on the "X" platform, the Qatari foreign ministry stated that "the criminal assault is a violation of all international laws and poses a serious threat to the security and safety of Qataris and residents."
The Qatari foreign ministry further stated that "the State of Qatar strongly condemns this assault and affirms that it will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behavior," adding that it "will not tolerate any act targeting its security and sovereignty."
It clarified that "investigations are ongoing at the highest level, and further details will be announced as soon as they are available."
The Israeli army had announced that it targeted Hamas leadership in the Qatari capital Doha, while a senior leader of the movement confirmed to Al Jazeera that Israel targeted the negotiating Hamas delegation during its meeting in Doha to discuss U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
A senior Hamas leader told Al Jazeera that the movement's leadership delegation, headed by Khalil Al-Hayya, survived the Israeli assassination attempt.
