SadaNews - Drones targeted strategic sites in Sudan's capital Khartoum today, Tuesday, including an oil refinery, a power station, and a weapons factory in the Khartoum area, according to witnesses at the targeted sites and images shared via social media.
The attacks that took place in the morning hit the Yarmouk Military Industrial Complex to the south of the capital, the Khartoum refinery, and the Al-Marakhiyat power station, according to sources.
On the other hand, a military source reported targeting the Wadi Saydna Air Base, adding that "ground defenses intercepted the drones and shot them down."
Another military source confirmed the targeting of a building belonging to the Sudanese army in the Bahri area north of Khartoum, "causing destruction and injuries among officers and soldiers."
Witnesses in Omdurman, on the opposite side of Khartoum from the Nile River, reported seeing drones crossing over to the other bank, while residents in the Revolution neighborhoods in Omdurman reported power outages.
The army has controlled Khartoum since May of last year after battles with the Rapid Support Forces, which have controlled the capital since the war began in 2023.
Since being driven out of the capital and other vital cities in central Sudan, the Rapid Support Forces have attacked the city of Port Sudan, the headquarters of the army-affiliated government, and various areas in Khartoum, in addition to intensifying their attacks in the Darfur region in the west of the country, most of which remains under their control.
