Israel Imposes Collective Punishments on Villages of Jerusalem Attackers
SadaNews - Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, announced a series of punitive measures against the residents of the villages of the perpetrators of the recent Jerusalem operation.
Katz stated in an official remark: "I instructed to impose civil penalties on the relatives and residents of the villages of the perpetrators of the Jerusalem operation, demolish any unauthorized building in those villages, and revoke 750 work permits and entry permits to Israel."
He confirmed that these measures were based on a recommendation from the Israeli security agencies and Coordinator Ghassan Alian.
The sanctions also included the imposition of a security cordon on villages northwest of Jerusalem, including Qubeibeh and Qatana, where the perpetrators of the operation are from. Additionally, extensive arrest campaigns and raids on citizens' homes were carried out. The vital tunnel known as the "Buddo Tunnel," which serves tens of thousands of residents in their daily movements, was also closed.
These measures come in the wake of a shooting operation carried out by two Palestinian youths near the Ramot junction in occupied Jerusalem, which resulted in the deaths of 6 Israelis and injuries to 17 others, before the perpetrators were martyred at the site of the operation.
