Families of Israeli Captives: Netanyahu is Deceiving His People and Occupying Gaza will be a Death Sentence for the Hostages and Soldiers
SadaNews - On Saturday evening, families of Israeli captives participated in their weekly protest in front of the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv, ahead of the central demonstration in the city and other protests in various towns, junctions, and main streets, demanding a comprehensive deal in exchange for ending the war on Gaza.
The mother of one of the Israeli captives and spokesperson for the families stated, "The Israeli government and its president put forward a partial proposal but thwarted it at the last moment. Retrieving the captives in rescue operations with black bags is not the way."
She added, "Netanyahu is deceiving his people in this war, and they are tired of it. If Netanyahu chooses to occupy Gaza instead of making a deal, it will be a death sentence for the hostages and soldiers," and addressed the Israeli Prime Minister, saying, "If my son returns in a bag, I will not only pay the price along with him, but I will ensure that you are charged with premeditated murder."
A relative of one of the Israeli captives stated, "We will not regain our strength without the return of the hostages. How can we, the youth, envision the future of the country?" She added, "We feel no sense of security or that there is leadership protecting us. The struggle for the release of the hostages is our struggle too."
Later on Saturday evening, demonstrations are set to take place in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jerusalem, and Beersheba, demanding an all-at-once prisoner exchange deal in exchange for ending the war on Gaza.
In recent weeks, families of Israeli captives have intensified their protests, announcing a large demonstration near Netanyahu's home in Jerusalem next Wednesday to demand the agreement of a deal.
In this context, the Israeli army announced on Friday the recovery of the bodies of two captives during a military operation in the Gaza Strip, one of whom is Ilan Weiss (55 years old) from "Kibbutz Be'eri" in the "Gaza envelope," while the identity of the other was not disclosed.
According to Israeli estimates, 48 captives are still being held in the Gaza Strip, about 20 of whom are believed to be alive.
