South Korea: Charges Filed Against Former President Yoon Suk Yeol's Wife and Former Prime Minister
SadaNews - Special prosecutors in South Korea today, Friday, filed criminal charges against the wife of imprisoned former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.
The charges against former first lady Kim Gon-hee and Han came as part of three special investigations initiated by the liberal government of President Lee Jae-myung, targeting Yoon's presidency, who was removed from office in April and re-arrested last month due to his decree concerning martial law last December.
The former defense minister of Yoon's government, the safety minister, and several senior military leaders and police officers have already been arrested for their involvement in the enforcement of martial law.
