A New Virus Spreads in the Gaza Strip
SadaNews - Mohammed Abu Salmiya, the director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, warned on Thursday evening about a new virus spreading within the Gaza Strip.
Abu Salmiya stated in a press statement that the symptoms of the virus include high body temperature, joint pain, nasal discharge, and a cough accompanied by bouts of diarrhea lasting more than a week.
He noted that hospitals do not have any tests to determine the cause of the virus.
He said that the spread of the virus is caused by immune deficiency due to malnutrition, in addition to the lack of clean water, the absence of cleaning materials, and the overcrowding of people in tents.
He added that the new virus exacerbates the pressure on the already strained healthcare system.
He emphasized that stopping the genocidal war on Gaza would end all these repercussions.
