Gaza: 4 Deaths Including Two Children Due to Famine in the Last 24 Hours
SadaNews - The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today, Thursday, the death of 4 citizens, including two children, due to famine and malnutrition reported by hospitals in the Gaza Strip within the last 24 hours.
It reported that the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition has risen to 317 martyrs, including 121 children.
It pointed out that since the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared famine in the Gaza Strip on August 22, there have been 39 recorded deaths, including 6 children.
It is noteworthy that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen due to the blockade and the lack of food and medical supplies, as severe famine intertwines with a genocide being waged by Israel since October 7, 2023.
The occupation authorities have been closing all crossings with the Gaza Strip since March 2, 2025, and preventing the entry of most food and medical aid, which has led to the spread of famine within the sector.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition among children under five may have doubled between March and June, due to the ongoing blockade.
The World Health Organization confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached alarming levels, and that the deliberate blockade and delay of assistance have caused many lives to be lost, with nearly one in five children under five in Gaza City suffering from severe malnutrition.
