In Detail.. An Israeli Parachute Operation on a Syrian Army Site in the Damascus Countryside
SadaNews - A Syrian military source reported that the Israeli army carried out a military parachute operation at a military barracks in the Al-Kisweh area in the Damascus countryside, spending more than two hours in the landing area.
The source added that the Israeli army brought in dozens of soldiers and some search equipment to Al-Kisweh in the Damascus countryside, noting that no clashes occurred between the participating Israeli forces and the Syrian army forces.
The military source indicated that 4 Israeli helicopters participated in the landing operation in the Al-Kisweh area.
Israeli Channel "Kan" stated on Thursday that "the aerial landing operation in Mount Man'a southwest of Damascus targeted an air defense base that was used by Iranian forces during the presidency of the former Bashar al-Assad."
A government source told the Syrian news agency (SANA) that army elements found surveillance and listening devices near Mount Man'a in the Al-Kisweh area on August 26, adding that while the army was dealing with the surveillance equipment near Mount Man'a, the site came under an Israeli air attack.
The government source added that the Israeli bombardment near Mount Man'a resulted in casualties and injuries, as well as the destruction of equipment.
This Israeli aerial landing is the first of its kind in Syria since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime on December 8, 2024.
The landing operation comes just hours after a new air attack launched by Israel on military barracks in Mount Man'a near Al-Harjaleh in the Al-Kisweh area, which is the second in 24 hours, targeting military barracks, according to sources for Al Jazeera.
The sources indicated that the Israeli bombardment came after the Syrian army managed to recover its casualties yesterday in an airstrike on the same area, noting that the Israeli warplanes flew over the targeted area for a while after carrying out the attack.
This attack is the second in 24 hours, as 6 soldiers were killed on Tuesday in drone strikes by the Israelis on the city of Al-Kisweh that targeted sites belonging to the Syrian army, according to the official Syrian news channel.
The attack targeted soldiers inside a battalion belonging to the Syrian army in the Al-Harjaleh area near Al-Kisweh, followed by an Israeli targeting of a civil defense team that tried to rescue the injured, resulting in additional injuries.
Syrian sources mentioned that the Israeli strikes occurred during tank training at a Syrian military site, accompanied by the sounds of explosions in the adjacent areas of Al-Matlai and Tal Man'a due to the explosion of war remnants.
This escalation comes after one person was killed on Tuesday due to an Israeli bombardment that targeted a house in the village of Tarinjah in the northern Quneitra countryside of the country, according to the Syrian news agency (SANA).
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned, in a statement, the recent Israeli aggressions, denouncing the incursion of Israeli forces into the town in the Quneitra countryside.
The ministry also condemned the Israeli forces' campaigns of arrests against civilians and their announcement to continue the unlawful presence at the summit of Mount Sheikh and in the buffer zone.
For the past 7 months, the Israeli army has occupied Mount Sheikh and a security strip 15 kilometers wide in some areas in southern Syria.
Since the ousting of the Assad regime, Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes on military sites in Syria, justifying this by its desire to prevent the military arsenal from falling into the hands of the new Syrian authorities.
