For the 213th consecutive day.. the occupation continues its aggression on Tulkarem city and its camps
Sada News - The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on Tulkarem city and its camp for the 213th consecutive day, and for the 201st day on Nur Shams camp, amid military reinforcements and ongoing escalation.
According to press sources, the occupation forces deployed military reinforcements of vehicles and infantry units to the center of the city, specifically around the Martyr Thabet Thabet Government Hospital, and set up a checkpoint across the street, preventing vehicle movement and obstructing citizens' mobility.
It was added that the occupation soldiers took position on the roof of the Al-Adawiya commercial building in the area, while another number of infantry units spread in the nearby streets, specifically Paris Street, where they stopped young men and subjected them to interrogation without any reported arrests.
In the same context, the city and its neighborhoods and suburbs, especially Dhanaba, Iktaba, and Shweika, witnessed incursions and intensive movements of occupation vehicles and infantry units patrolling the main streets, deliberately obstructing the movement of vehicles and citizens by setting up flying checkpoints, along with searches and identity checks.
The occupation forces also raided several homes in the Al-Mahdawi neighborhood in the Shweika suburb north of the city, detaining citizen Um Fadi Jarrun after raiding and searching her home for some time, as they took her with them and subjected her to field interrogation before releasing her later.
Simultaneously, the occupation forces continue to impose a tight siege on Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps, preventing residents from entering to check on their homes, chasing them, and firing live ammunition and sound bombs at them.
The Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps have been subjected to extensive demolition operations over the past two months, affecting a large number of residential buildings, as part of the occupation's plan to demolish hundreds of homes, from which their owners were forcibly expelled, turning them into rubble along with the burning of other homes, where the number of buildings completely demolished during the ongoing aggression has reached 1,000 housing units, and thousands more have been partially demolished, in addition to the total destruction and damage to the remaining homes, amid the absence of any signs of normal life in the camps.
The escalation has led to the forcible displacement of more than 5,000 families from Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps, which is more than 25,000 citizens, with the continued closure of the entrances to the camps with barriers, turning them into lifeless areas.
The aggression has also resulted in the martyrdom of 14 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was in her eighth month of pregnancy, in addition to dozens of injuries and arrests, and extensive destruction of infrastructure, homes, shops, and vehicles.
