Prime Minister: Ongoing Government Efforts to Secure Financial Resources to Cover Accumulated Obligations
Sada News: The Cabinet warned of a dangerous scheme aimed at reoccupying the city of Gaza and demolishing what remains of its neighborhoods, homes, and facilities, cautioning that this would lead to nearly one million Palestinians being displaced once again under conditions lacking the most basic necessities of life. It clarified that this scheme would also exacerbate the already overcrowded population in the devastated and uninhabitable areas of southern Gaza, coinciding with the restriction of humanitarian aid and the continued spread of famine.
The Council also considered that Israel's acknowledgment of the crime of targeting journalists, civil defense crews, and patients at Nasser Hospital yesterday came only after it was documented by cameras live on air, calling for this crime and others to serve as a catalyst for increased effective international pressure to stop the genocide against our people in Gaza, and in the West Bank, which is facing an unprecedented colonial assault and a wave of escalating attacks, the latest of which targeted the villages of al-Mughayer and Sinjil, as well as the ongoing incursions into various cities, towns, and refugee camps in the West Bank.
The Cabinet warned, in its weekly session today, Tuesday, of the worsening financial crisis and its impact on the health, education, and security sectors in particular, amid the continued detention of clearance funds, calling for intensified international pressure to release them to avoid any disruption in the provision of these services.
In this context, the Prime Minister emphasized the ongoing government efforts to secure financial resources to cover accumulated obligations, directing the relevant authorities to follow up on implementing measures to alleviate the burden on employees, ensure the provision of basic services, and support areas affected by colonialism and settler attacks.
The Council also reviewed the preparations of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with various partners for holding the general secondary examination for 25,000 students in Gaza, which will commence on Saturday, September 6, 2025. In this regard, the Council praised the educational staff and the important national role played by our educational institutions in advancing and preserving the national narrative.
Additionally, the Council approved the annual report of the General Administration for Complaints, which received more than 11,000 complaints through the complaint units in ministries, government departments, and the security institution, with over 81% of them being addressed. The report included recommendations being studied by the relevant authorities, including the development of a special system for addressing pending complaints in local bodies, and improving complaint mechanisms in hospitals, medical centers, crossings, borders, and embassies, all of which would enhance the quality of government services through the prompt resolution and handling of complaints.
In a related context, the Council approved the establishment of a unified account for the revenue and payment of electricity bills by local authorities and distribution companies, to organize the purchase of electricity from foreign sources and facilitate the deposit of dues into the unified account, as part of the government's efforts to implement the energy security initiative to regulate the renewable energy sector and increase reliance on local production, and to build a national carrier capable of providing energy security and encouraging local investment in the energy sector.
The Cabinet discussed, in its second reading, the draft property appraisal and licensing system, which aims to regulate property appraisal processes and establish a fair price for both buyers and sellers, as well as determine the insurance value on real estate and other procedures in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The Council approved the declaration of Thursday, September 4, 2025, as an official holiday on the occasion of the Prophet's birthday.
