Trump and International Leaders Condemn the Murder of Journalists in Gaza
Sada News - The Israeli strike targeting a hospital in Gaza and a tent for journalists has sparked international outrage, with condemnation from international organizations and press freedom advocates.
U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his discontent today, Monday, regarding the Israeli airstrike that resulted in the deaths of 20 people, including five journalists, stating that he was not aware of it.
Trump told reporters at the White House, "I am not happy about it. I don’t want to see it. At the same time, we need to end this... nightmare."
French President Emmanuel Macron stated that media should be able to perform their duties freely, emphasizing that targeting journalists inside a hospital is unacceptable.
- We are working closely with Qatar to ensure the success of mediation efforts and in preparation for the conference on the two-state solution to be held in New York next September.
UN Condemnation
The United Nations stressed that journalists and hospitals should never be targeted.
Ravina Shamdasani, spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, stated in a press release: "The killing of journalists in Gaza should be a shock to the world, prompting action for accountability and justice, not silence," emphasizing that "journalists are not a target. Hospitals are not a target" in any war.
Silencing Voices
Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, stated today (Monday) that the killing of journalists in Gaza silences the last remaining voices reporting on famine and the deaths of children in the region.
The commissioner added that it is time for political will to end famine and protect journalists and humanitarian and health workers.

The Foreign Press Association demanded today (Monday) an "immediate clarification" from the Israeli army and the Prime Minister's Office following the killing of five journalists in two Israeli strikes on a hospital in southern Gaza.
The association, based in Jerusalem and representing journalists working from Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza with foreign media, stated in a press release: "We demand an immediate clarification from the Israeli army and the Israeli Prime Minister's Office. We urge Israel, unequivocally, to stop its abhorrent practice of targeting journalists."

The ministry reiterated the Kingdom's rejection of ongoing Israeli violations of international laws and norms, renewing its call for the international community to put an end to these Israeli crimes, emphasizing the need to provide protection for those working in medical, relief, and media fields.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu's office tweeted in English after Trump's remarks, expressing Israel's deep regret over the tragic incident that occurred today at Al-Nasser Hospital in Gaza.
