The Occupation Army Seeks to "Catch Its Breath" Through a Partial Agreement in Gaza

SadaNews - As military operations continue in the Gaza Strip, tensions have escalated within the Israeli leadership regarding the effectiveness of the military escalation, amid warnings from the occupation army's leaders about its consequences for soldiers and captives.

The Chief of Staff of the Israeli occupation army, Eyal Zamir, called for a partial agreement regarding Gaza, allowing the army to reorganize its ranks, warning that continued military pressure on Hamas could lead to additional casualties among soldiers and increase risks for the Israeli captives held in the sector.

According to Haaretz newspaper, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized representatives of the army during closed meetings, considering their fears "exaggerated." However, military sources confirmed that the occupation of the city of Rafah did not result in the release of captives but led to the death of several of them along with other soldiers.

Zamir emphasized in a meeting with Israeli ministers that military escalation without a clear plan would increase the burden on reserve forces, at a time when army leaders expressed their concerns over Netanyahu's disregard for their professional recommendations during security meetings.
