Syria Denies Signing Security Agreement with Israel
SadaNews - The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied the reports regarding the signing of a pending security agreement between Syria and Israel on September 25, as reported by the German News Agency.
The Coordination and Communication Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to an inquiry from Syria TV, stated that the rumors regarding the signing of any security agreement between the two sides are "denied."
Reports had quoted "high-ranking Syrian sources" as saying that Syria and Israel would sign a security agreement under the auspices of the United States on September 25.
Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shabani met with an Israeli delegation in Paris on Tuesday to "discuss several files related to enhancing stability in the region and southern Syria," according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
SANA reported that the discussions focused on "de-escalation, non-interference in Syrian internal affairs, reaching understandings to support stability in the region, and monitoring the ceasefire in As-Suwayda Governorate (southern Syria)."
