Occupation Removes Trees Over an Area of Up to 297 Dunams from al-Mughayer Lands

SadaNews - The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission stated that the occupying authorities issued a decision today, August 22, 2025, to remove trees over an area of up to 297 dunams of land in the village of al-Mughayer, north of Ramallah.

The head of the commission, Minister Muaid Shaban, said that the military order numbered 25/25 targets vast areas of citizens' lands by removing all trees in the aforementioned area, which is marked in red on the map attached to the military order, west of the colonial Alon road. The same order also targets other areas of land located to the east of the road by presenting security pretexts, serving the occupation's project and the aspirations of the colonial settlers in the area.

He added: The military order issued by the commander of the occupation army came shortly after the removal of all trees in the designated area. Although the military order itself grants citizens the opportunity to object within a time window of 7 days, the rapid and fervent enforcement of the removal order by the occupation forces contradicts completely with the elements of the order and the alleged legal cover for the order itself.

He noted that in recent times, the occupying state has intensified the issuance of orders for tree removal under the pretext of adopting security measures to eliminate Palestinian trees and cause significant damage to the pattern and standard of living of the landowners. The commission's data indicates that since the beginning of 2025, there have been 18 military orders under the guise of adopting security measures aiming to remove trees from an estimated area of 681 dunams of citizens' lands.
