Israeli Protesters Block Highway 6 and "Ayalon" Routes Demanding a Deal and Ending the War in Gaza

SadaNews - Israeli protesters demonstrated this evening, Friday, at various locations, blocking Highway 6 and the "Ayalon" routes to traffic, demanding a comprehensive prisoner exchange deal in exchange for ending the war in Gaza.

The protesters set fire to tables placed in the middle of the "Ayalon" routes, expressing their anger on the eve of the Jewish Sabbath without the captives held in Gaza.

They said, "While Netanyahu sits around the Sabbath table, the families of the captives must spend Friday anxiously worrying about the fate of their loved ones," and called on the public to join the planned demonstrations across the country tomorrow.

Families of prisoners and activists also protested outside the home of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in occupied Jerusalem, demanding that he leave the Sabbath table and move to the negotiation table.

Addressing Netanyahu, the families of the prisoners said, "Instead of saying yes to the deal on the table and moving towards ending the war and bringing everyone back, he is heading to occupy Gaza and selling to the public that he is concerned about a comprehensive deal. This is a lie! Occupying the enclave will blow up the negotiations."

They added, "Those who want a comprehensive deal should put a comprehensive deal on the table, not include impractical terms or occupy the enclave. Accept the deal on the table and immediately enter negotiations to end the war on feasible terms," stressing that "more pressure must be exerted until Netanyahu accepts the proposal on the table."

Other protests were organized in several towns and major intersections, including Yokneam, the "Nahalal" junction, Hod Hasharon, the "Mikha'el Bridge," and the "Drorim Bridge."

The families of Israeli prisoners announced that they would organize protests next Tuesday across the country, including a march towards the "Captives Roundabout" in Tel Aviv and a sit-in calling for the swift return of all prisoners.

They stated, "They are about to derail the agreement. On Tuesday, Israel will rise up; get out of your homes and show solidarity with the captives. Now this is the demand of the hour for every Israeli."
