Jordan Condemns Statements of Israeli Communications Minister Regarding Extremists' Illusions About the "Banks of the Jordan River"

SadaNews - The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned today, Friday, statements made by the Israeli Minister of Communications in which he praised the decision to build settlements in the "E1" area of the occupied West Bank, invoking heresies and illusions of extremists who claim that the banks of the Jordan River are part of what is referred to as "the Land of Israel."

The official spokesperson of the ministry, Ambassador Sufian al-Qudah, reaffirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection of these provocative and inciting statements, emphasizing that these remarks will not undermine Jordan or its firm position supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and calling for an end to the war crimes committed against them. He added that these statements reflect the situation of the internationally isolated Israeli government, which is experiencing a severe crisis that pushes its extremist officials to promote ideas of exclusionary racial hatred that fuel and exacerbate the ongoing conflict in the region.

He warned of the continued threats to security and stability in the region posed by the extremist Israeli government's policies and its systematic violations of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council resolutions, foremost among them resolution 2334, which condemns all Israeli actions aimed at altering the demographic composition and character of the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, in addition to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which affirmed the illegality of the Israeli occupation and the nullity of settlement construction and annexation measures in the West Bank.

Ambassador al-Qudah renewed his call for the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities, compelling Israel and its extremist government to halt all incitement procedures and statements that jeopardize the stability of the region and international peace and security, to cease its aggression against Gaza, its dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank, and to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people and fulfill their legitimate rights to establish their independent sovereign state on their national soil, and to stop the crimes committed against them and hold the perpetrators accountable.
