Netanyahu: We Will Continue to Control Gaza Even If Hamas Agrees to a Deal
SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in an interview with "Sky News Australia" that the war in the Gaza Strip is nearing its end, asserting that Israel will continue to control the region even if a ceasefire agreement is reached with Hamas.
Netanyahu explained that "the war could end today if Hamas lays down its arms and releases all the hostages," emphasizing that the main objective of the military operation is "to free the hostages and disarm Hamas."
He added: "Eliminating Hamas's last stronghold is essential for achieving lasting peace," pointing out that his goal is not to occupy Gaza, but to "provide it and Israel with a different future," expressing his belief that this goal is now within reach.
In the course of his remarks, Netanyahu revealed the full support of former U.S. President Donald Trump for the Israeli military objective of controlling the city of Gaza in order to "eliminate Hamas."
