Government Council Decisions in Today's Session
SadaNews - Prime Minister Dr. Mohamed Mustafa briefed the Cabinet on the results of his visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt and his meetings with his Egyptian counterpart and the Foreign Minister, which included preparations for holding the international conference for reconstruction and the technical meetings of working groups that will precede it in the upcoming period.
The Prime Minister also reviewed in the opening of the weekly council session today, Tuesday, the latest updates on the implementation plans for relief, alongside Egypt's efforts and mediators to reach a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire, along with the priorities related to immediate emergency relief, the restoration of basic services, providing temporary housing, removing rubble, culminating in economic recovery, and completing the unification of institutions between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Additionally, the Cabinet condemned Israel's decision to revoke the visas of Australian diplomats accredited to the State of Palestine, describing this step as a blatant violation of diplomatic norms, clearly reflecting Israel's arrogance and excesses.
The council also warned of the implications of the Israeli government's continuation of the colonial plan known as (E1) east of Jerusalem, which covers an area of over 12 thousand dunams, and the displacement of several Palestinian population clusters, separating the northern West Bank from the southern part. The council emphasized that this plan puts the international community to a real test regarding its commitment to international law and international legitimacy decisions that always reaffirm the illegitimacy of colonization.
In light of the escalating assaults by occupation forces and settlers on farmers and Bedouin communities, the Cabinet directed the relevant authorities to secure additional financial resources as emergency allocations to enhance the resilience of citizens in targeted areas, particularly in the agricultural sector, alongside intensifying political and international media efforts to expose the crimes of the occupation and settlers.
The council also discussed the efforts made with all partners to combat dumping and implement the national goods import substitution program, in order to support national products and prioritize them. Accordingly, the relevant authorities were tasked with completing consultations with various partners and presenting specific recommendations within a month.
Moreover, the Cabinet approved the final reading of the judicial notification system via electronic means and companies, which will facilitate notification procedures and expedite litigation files.
It also approved the amendment of Cabinet Decision No. (5) of 2018 regarding the purchase of periods of loan and unpaid leave for retirement purposes.
Lastly, the Cabinet approved the decision of the Minister of Local Governance to appoint an interim management committee for the Beit Kahil Municipality following the resignation of the majority of council members.
