Israeli Airstrikes Target Hijaz Power Station South of Sana'a
SadaNews - Local Yemeni media reported that "Israeli airstrikes targeted the Hijaz power station south of Sana'a" early this morning.
Reuters quoted eyewitnesses as saying they heard at least two explosions near the power station in the Yemeni capital Sana'a early on Sunday.
In the first official comment, a member of the Political Bureau of the Ansar Allah (Houthi) group, Hazem Al-Asad, tweeted on his account on X, "A criminal and bankrupt enemy, which targets only service facilities and civilian sites: electricity, water...".
Israeli airstrikes on Yemen began in July 2024, targeting vital facilities including the Hodeidah port and Sana'a International Airport.
In return, the Houthi group, in support of Gaza, has been continuously launching attacks on Israel using missiles and drones, and targeting ships associated with it or heading toward it.
With U.S. support, Israel has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in 61,897 martyrs and 155,660 injured among Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, more than 9,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands displaced, with a famine that has claimed the lives of 251 people, including 108 children.
