Israel: We will agree to an agreement in Gaza on the condition of releasing all detainees

SadaNews - Nearly two years after the war in the Gaza Strip, Israel has affirmed its commitment to its conditions for ending the war, which include the disarmament of Hamas, the return of all detainees, control over the Gaza Strip, and establishing a government without Hamas or the Palestinian Authority.

This was stated in a release from the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as follows: "We will agree to the deal on the condition of the simultaneous release of all detainees, according to our terms for ending the war".

The statement outlined the conditions as follows: "Disarming Hamas, stripping the Gaza Strip of weapons, Israeli control over the perimeter, and bringing in a governing entity that is neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority, and that lives in peace with Israel".

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed days ago that his country would not agree to a deal that only involves the release of some detainees in the Gaza Strip.

He added in an interview with Israeli (i24 News) television: "I will not return to partial agreements... I want them all".

Netanyahu's office announced on Friday that the security cabinet had approved full control over the Gaza Strip, which drew extensive Arab and international condemnation.
