
Sources to SadaNews: Hamas Agreed to Return to the Latest Ceasefire Proposal
Exclusive to SadaNews – Palestinian sources revealed that the Hamas movement has indeed agreed to the latest ceasefire proposal that was agreed upon between the mediators, Israel, and the United States, which stipulates a cessation of hostilities for a duration of 60 days.
According to the sources that spoke to "SadaNews", during a meeting that brought together Hamas leaders and the head of the Egyptian intelligence service, Hassan Rashad, they informed him that they would agree to return to the proposal recently put forward by the mediators, which outlines withdrawal maps and percentages for the release of Palestinian prisoners, in addition to their approval of the humanitarian mechanism in place.
According to the sources, Egypt welcomed this position as a step toward moving towards a comprehensive deal later on.
The sources indicated that this matter was raised by Hamas leadership to the Palestinian factions and they informed them of the results of the meeting held with the head of the Egyptian intelligence service, noting that the factions praised this step.
The Palestinian factions supported this move and called for seizing the opportunity of the new Egyptian intervention to attempt to rescue the negotiations process to prevent the passage of the occupation projects in Gaza, especially the plan aimed at displacing the residents of Gaza City.
Some faction leaders stressed the necessity of withdrawing justifications from the Israeli occupation to prevent the passage of its projects.
Sources tell SadaNews that the meeting between Hamas leadership and the factions was warm and discussed the conditions in Gaza realistically, pointing out that Hamas emphasized the importance of the factions' role in assisting them in making collective decisions, and everyone agreed on the necessity of inviting Fatah movement and other factions to hold dialogues and consultations to resume efforts for national dialogue.
Some Palestinian factions had met in Cairo with a Hamas delegation to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip, the developments of the humanitarian and field situation, and the occupation's plan to occupy Gaza City, emphasizing the need to confront the projects of the occupation.
