
The Government Contact Center Monitors the Key Interventions Implemented by the Government During the Past Week
SadaNews - The Government Contact Center issued a report today, Sunday, highlighting the most significant developmental and reform interventions implemented by the Palestinian government during the past week (03/08/2025 – 09/08/2025), as follows:
Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa stated in his speech during a special prayer for Gaza to stop the genocide and achieve justice, organized by the Ramallah Churches Council last Thursday: "We will not leave our people in Gaza alone; we will build Gaza and establish the state. We hope that the war will stop in the coming weeks, so we can start our work on rebuilding Gaza in cooperation with our brothers in Egypt and the participation of many countries worldwide, because Gaza deserves it, and because it is the passage of the state, it must be rebuilt... Gaza will be built, and Palestine will rise. The picture may seem bleak, but our faith in God is strong, and our hope in our people is greater."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates intensified its efforts to gather international support for the two-state solution and to stop the Israeli aggression through high-level meetings and contacts, and by following up on the outcomes of the New York conference concerning the peace settlement. The ministry sought to expand recognition of the State of Palestine through meetings with the South Korean representative and received positive positions from Singapore and Italy, with a call to translate these recognitions into practical steps and hold the occupation accountable. An expanded briefing session was held for the diplomatic corps on the political and humanitarian developments and the economic blockade, with the participation of the Private Sector Coordination Council and businessmen from Gaza. The ministry also strengthened bilateral relations with a meeting with the Venezuelan ambassador and delivering a message to President Abbas, along with an invitation to visit Caracas. Additionally, it supported youth diplomacy by hosting a committee from the UN Youth. The ministry warned against the occupation's plans to reoccupy Gaza and escalate settlement activities, condemned the incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and settlers' crimes, and called on the international community to take deterrent actions.
The Ministry of Social Development carried out comprehensive interventions and services for vulnerable groups and needy families, including providing humanitarian and cash assistance to 14,456 beneficiaries totaling 2,285,000 shekels, which included food parcels, hygiene materials, school bags, and direct cash assistance. Additionally, it issued and renewed 104 health insurance policies and implemented more than 70 interventions for persons with disabilities through customs exemptions, medical transfers, and the provision of assistive tools. The ministry also provided various assistance to 570 orphans, including preparing school bags, financial support, and organizing trips and social activities. In the field of protection, the ministry followed up on more than 30 women's cases, 60 childhood cases, and nearly 50 juvenile cases through conferences, visits, guidance sessions, and referrals to partner institutions. It nominated 11 families for economic empowerment projects and organized visits to follow up on existing projects. In terms of professional supervision, the specialized teams conducted over 180 office interviews and field visits with the participation of 6 volunteers from universities in several directorates.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education completed the finishing of a new school in Kafr Ein/Bir Zeit, which includes 9 classrooms and facilities at a cost of $600,000, signed a supervision contract for a new school in Nablus worth $40,000, and referred tenders for the maintenance and rehabilitation of 3 schools in Bir Zeit (Al-Mughayir, Abwein, Singil) valued at $400,000. It announced scholarships in Kurdistan-Iraq, Serbia, and Bangladesh, and signed three contracts worth $2 million through the Palestinian American Medical Association and the "UNDP" program to support emergency healthcare and higher education services.
The Ministry of Labor disbursed the 17th installment of cash assistance to 4,515 workers from Gaza who are located in the West Bank, at a rate of 700 shekels for each worker. The ministry announced it provided 6,250 temporary job opportunities for skilled and unskilled workers and those unemployed. The Cabinet approved the extension of free health insurance for more than 15,000 workers from the occupied interior until the end of the year. The Minister of Labor emphasized the role of young entrepreneurs and the importance of entrepreneurship in creating new job opportunities during a competition organized by the Ramallah Municipality to support entrepreneurs "City Challenge - An Inclusive and Creative City".
The Ministry of Local Government completed a project to rehabilitate and pave internal roads in Al-Manshi in Bethlehem Governorate at a cost of $150,000, and in Al-Mutala in Jenin Governorate at a cost of 350,000 shekels. It began implementing a project to set up a new electricity line in Al-Ar and installed a transformer with a capacity of "250 KVA" at a cost of approximately 49,000 euros. The ministry also completed the procedures for restructuring debts owed by four local councils (Jensafout, Um ar-Rihan, Amrish Abdu, and Al-Alqatin, Jumain), organized two classroom sessions for urban planning students in the areas designated "C" in the fields of planning and urban design, with participation from 30 students from An-Najah and Bir Zeit Universities.
The Minister of Agriculture inaugurated an agricultural and veterinary office in Maythlon, south of Jenin, to serve 11 communities and local councils. The Ministry of Agriculture received 1.15 million doses of veterinary vaccine as a donation from the FAO and signed an agreement to establish an environmental park in Al-Mughayir/Jenin. In cooperation with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), it concluded the "Land Resilience and Natural Resource Management" (RELAP) project and discussed its developmental impact. The ministry and agricultural relief began reclaiming lands in Deir al-Balah, Gaza, and Khan Younis, funded by OCHA. The minister visited Jericho Governorate to discuss developing the agricultural sector, especially for dates, and the ministry, in partnership with the Land Development Association, distributed fencing to 39 home gardens in Hebron and 17 in Bethlehem under the "Harvest of Hope" project funded by Swedish Radiohjälpen in partnership with Diakonia. The ministry and FAO conducted workshops for 40 farmers in Battir/Bethlehem as part of the sustainable tourism support project. Furthermore, the minister discussed sector development with the Union of Date Exporters. Additionally, the ministry and CARE distributed 53 nylon rolls for 43 affected farmers in Bethlehem through the "Emergency Response" project and provided fencing and production supplies for 16 model agricultural plots covering an area of 56 dunums in Jenin as part of the "Greening Palestine" project.
The Ministry of National Economy referred a violator to the prosecutor, issued 17 notifications, destroyed about 20 tons of expired goods, and confiscated 9 tons. It addressed 18 complaints through 81 inspection rounds that included 601 shops. The ministry also registered 75 companies and provided 674 services in the company field, issued 172 import licenses, 36 commercial transaction cards, 20 certificates of origin, and 128 commercial certificates with Turkey. It registered 40 new traders, provided 33 services in the commercial register, registered 30 trademarks, and 64 services in the field of intellectual property.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications issued tractor licenses to support the steadfastness of farmers in the Kafriyat area in Tulkarem. The ministry renewed 5,048 driving licenses and issued 1,080 new licenses for our people in Gaza. It also conducted preliminary registrations for 445 vehicles and renewed licenses for 10,853 vehicles. Additionally, it executed courses to empower employees administratively in cooperation with the National Institute of Administration. The ministry studied 5 plans for updated roads, 11 plans for road modifications, and 8 plans for new transport professions. It conducted field inspections of the proposed sites, reviewed 50 engineering and technical files with regional committees, and addressed organizational objections related to (Al-Kharum, Al-Mouraq, Beit Maqdum), adjusted the reconfiguration of 20 roads according to modern aerial images, prepared the public transport line layer to upload on the GeoPortal, and participated in the work of the ministerial committees for infrastructure and central tenders.
The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation discussed with Greek Consul General Dimitrios Angelosopoulos enhancing cooperation between Palestine and Greece, supporting projects in health and heritage preservation, and expanding partnership between the private sectors, emphasizing the need to define future project priorities according to national plans.
In coordination between the Ministry of Women's Affairs and the National Committee for Education, Culture, and Sciences, an international event will be launched in Tunisia under the title "Jerusalem: Capital of Arab Women 2025-2026" in collaboration with ISESCO to highlight the status of Jerusalem and its role in Arab women's issues. The minister highlighted the historic UN resolution recognizing the suffering of Palestinian women under occupation and calling for accountability of the occupation through media meetings. The ministry also contributed to including issues of persons with disabilities in the national complaints system in cooperation with the Stars of Hope Association and coordinated with UN Women (The UN Women Program) to develop a guideline for handling urgent cases.
The Ministry of Justice submitted a draft environmental law within the framework of sustainable development for 2025 via the legislation platform to receive comments. The Minister of Justice held two meetings; the first with the UK envoy for governance issues to discuss the political developments and the humanitarian disaster in Gaza and the efforts of the ministry; the second with the police director general to discuss enhancing cooperation with the police to support justice and rule of law systems.
The General Authority for Civil Affairs continued its efforts around the clock to address urgent humanitarian issues and facilitate services for citizens. In Jenin, it coordinated the evacuation of medical centers and pharmacies and the Prosthetics Association from the camp after threats from the occupation. They enabled rehabilitation works of main streets, buried the martyr Yusuf Al-Amar, resumed construction of a new floor at the government hospital, repaired Al-Yamoun Roundabout, and retrieved confiscated equipment. In Jericho and the Jordan Valley, they facilitated farmers' access to their lands in Fasail and Bardala, and in Hebron, they allowed farmers to access their lands near the Karmi Tsour settlement. In Ramallah and Al-Bireh, they coordinated the repair of water lines between Deir Jarir and Kafr Malik.
The Minister of Interior met his Jordanian counterpart on the Jordanian side of the King Hussein Bridge to discuss the conditions of citizens traveling, reviewed the workflow amid the summer congestion, and listened to travelers' notes. On the ground, the minister inspected the Al-Karama Crossing and was briefed on the new departure hall and the interior office in the travelers' rest area, assuring continued improvements in services. The ministry also opened a civil status office in Jericho Rest Area to facilitate citizens' access to services.
The Environmental Quality Authority issued the "Management and Protection of Biodiversity Areas No. (1) of 2025" instructions to enhance the legal protection of fragile ecosystems, especially amid settlement expansion and climate change. These instructions will come into effect 30 days after being published in the official newspaper (27/7/2025). Additionally, it carried out 41 inspection rounds on facilities, dealt with 3 environmental complaints, granted approval for a cellular broadcasting station, and rejected a project for not meeting the requirements. It updated a report on the environmental damages caused by the aggression on Gaza, published guidelines to handle rising temperatures, and executed awareness activities and trainings in summer environmental camps and interactive educational pathways.
The Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs visited the municipalities of Aqaba and Tammun, as well as the Salah Khalaf Center, and inaugurated solar energy projects in mosques in Tubas Governorate and the new Awqaf Directorate premises. Additionally, a preparatory meeting was held to receive the Awqaf investment building "Sabitani." The ministry announced the results of the 24th local Al-Aqsa competition, executed 170 unified lessons, and honored 270 memorizers (Hafiz and Hafiza), and opened a Quranic summer camp in Jericho. It also held a meeting with the civil defense to enhance safety in mosques and organized a women's event in Ibrahim Mosque. Furthermore, it issued a report documenting 27 incursions into Al-Aqsa and 51 instances of the adhan being prevented at the Ibrahimi Mosque.
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities participated in the opening of Palestinian Heritage Day activities in Tulkarem, along with the ministers of local governance and awqaf, at the opening of the Qatrani season in Atara - Ramallah.
The ministry teams, in collaboration with the Nablus Municipality, installed QR Code rapid response panels for landmarks in the Old Town. They implemented rounds for licensing tourist villas in Hebron and followed up on documenting historical buildings in Taffuh, Beit Kahlil, and Halhul. The minister also inspected the Qalqilya archaeological excavation that unveiled a Byzantine church and monuments from different periods.
The Minister of Industry participated along with the Prime Minister in a tour of Hebron Governorate, which included meetings with chambers of commerce, businessmen, syndicates, and municipalities, and the Federation of Industries to discuss supporting citizens’ steadfastness and economic activation, and to follow up on projects and infrastructure, especially in the Old Town. The Ministry of Industry, chaired by the minister, held two workshops; the first with partners to activate the "Pal Bro" business services development center and discuss its governance and services, and the second titled "Bread Between Consumer Rights and Quality Assurance" in cooperation with the Consumer Protection Association, confirming the necessity of balancing between the rights of consumers and bakery owners. Notable interventions by the ministry included issuing two licenses for establishing and operating industrial facilities (one with a capital of 21,000 Jordanian dinars providing 8 job opportunities), renewing 13 industrial licenses, issuing 5 licenses for quarries, conducting 17 inspection rounds, and issuing certifications for laboratory accreditations.
The Ministry of Culture participated in the opening of the "First Mosaic" exhibition and discussed the revitalization plan for the Ibrahimi Mosque and the Old Town in Hebron with the head of the Political Guidance Authority. It also organized artistic workshops for children and youth in Qalqilya, Tubas, Tulkarem, and Hebron, as well as psychological support activities such as the "Tomorrow is Ours" and "Hope" camps, along with workshops to promote identity and belonging, in addition to storytelling activities in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Jericho, and heritage interactive theater performances in Hebron and Jericho. The activities included embroidery workshops under the title "National Stitch" in Jerusalem, displaying Palestinian costumes and tasting traditional foods in Hebron, summer camps in Bethlehem, Tulkarem, Salfit, and Jericho, and creative writing workshops in Jenin and Qalqilya, story reading sessions for children in Hebron and Tulkarem, and screening the documentary film "A Time Suspended in Jerusalem" within a cultural camp in Tulkarem.
The Energy Authority and Tubas Electricity signed an agreement to install and connect solar energy systems to the local grid, aiming to reduce electricity bills and enhance sustainability, supporting the plan to raise the share of renewable energy to 30% by 2030. The agreement includes investment in storage systems to ensure service continuity, improve supply quality, and diversify energy sources.
