The Government Contact Center Monitors the Major Interventions Undertaken by the Government During the Past Week
SadaNews - The Government Contact Center issued a report today, Sunday, highlighting the main developmental and reform interventions that the government implemented during the past week (08/03/2026– 14/03/2026), as follows:
Prime Minister Mohamed Mustafa directed various government institutions during last Tuesday's weekly Cabinet session to intensify and unify their efforts and activate programs to support and enhance the resilience of citizens, particularly in areas targeted by the assaults of the occupation forces and settler gangs.
The Ministry of Social Development executed a series of interventions and services that included distributing food and non-food parcels and shopping vouchers across all directorates in cooperation with partners, benefiting 70,265 families with an estimated value of 1,710,810 shekels. Additionally, 251 new health insurance services were provided, as well as specialized social interventions comprising 38 interventions for persons with disabilities, 29 for the elderly, 61 for women, 74 for childhood, 87 for youth, 24 for nurseries, and 83 in economic empowerment. A total of 598 orphans benefited from multiple interventions, alongside volunteer and training programs and support for charitable organizations. Since the beginning of Ramadan until the end of the third week, the ministry executed about 200,000 interventions across various governorates, including food and non-food parcels, collective Iftar meals, and cash assistance.
In the Gaza Strip, 516,047 food interventions were implemented, including fruits, Iftar meals, Suhoor meals, hot meals, bread, and food parcels. Additionally, 1,180 cups of drinkable water and 2,530 non-food interventions such as tents, health parcels, covers, and hygiene parcels were distributed, along with 3,360 interventions for women's protection and 55 interventions for child protection. Furthermore, 1,467 interventions in the field of orphans included food assistance, sponsorships, mattresses, and the distribution of boxes of dates.
The Ministry of Labor implemented a range of interventions to support the labor market, most notably the disbursement of a new financial batch to assist workers in Gaza and their accompanying patients in the West Bank, and the 20th payment of assistance to Gaza workers stranded in the West Bank, totaling 4,605 workers at a value of 3,223,500 shekels. The Minister of Labor briefed the International Labor Organization mission on the reality of the Palestinian labor market and violations against workers amid rising unemployment and declining economic activity.
Vocational training centers implemented training programs within the "Skills for Employment" project, accepting 92 trainees in technical and industrial specializations. Psychological and professional training was also provided, distributing trainees for training in the labor market. The Palestinian Employment Fund implemented employment and development programs in cooperation with international partners, which included contracting with 250 beneficiaries within the economic resilience program, supporting entrepreneurial projects and agricultural grants, and preparing to launch 20 "Startup" grants worth $2,500 each, in addition to educational grants within the "Handy" project.
In terms of services, the ministry issued 715 unemployment certificates to obtain free health insurance and provided employment services to more than 2,167 beneficiaries. It also conducted inspection visits to monitor safety and occupational health in 35 facilities, registering 20 violations, alongside 27 inspection visits to protect workers and addressing 12 labor complaints. Furthermore, it monitored cooperative societies’ affairs and offered administrative and legal consultations.
The Ministry of Agriculture initiated the preliminary acceptance work for the municipal slaughterhouse project in Yatta as part of the European project "Supporting the Resilience of Palestinians in areas classified as (C) through sustainable livestock development" funded by the European Union and implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance. It also began distributing tools and equipment for the "Sanit" project in collaboration with the Siam Bari Institute for farmers in the Northern Hebron Agriculture Directorate. The ministry received, through its technical committees, a water pipeline project measuring 2 km to irrigate a vineyard in the Araba plain in Jenin Governorate as part of the European assistance program to enhance the resilience of farmers in threatened areas. In cooperation with the Jordanian-Palestinian Agricultural Marketing Company, the Jordanian customs exempted Palestinian agricultural exports from fees and fines resulting from the occupation procedures at the commercial crossing/King Hussein Bridge.
The Ministry of Local Governance, in cooperation with the French Development Agency and the Ministry of Agriculture, distributed 87 heads of sheep and 13.5 tons of fodder to 9 farmers in Salfit Governorate. In Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, the Agriculture Directorate received 11 projects to support livestock breeders in the towns of Beitunia, Deir Ibzi, Bil'in, Ras Karkar, Rantis, Deir Ammar, and Beitlehem, including the supply of 153 heads of goats and sheep and 25 tons of fodder and the establishment of a barn and provision of equipment.
The fodder distribution cycle in Gaza continued with the participation of the Ministry of Agriculture and supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and implemented by agricultural work committees, with 2000 sheep breeders benefiting with 3 bags of fodder each, as the second batch of cash assistance valued at $536 for each breeder was transferred. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and as part of the "Lifesaving Assistance to Meet the Emergency Needs of Gaza Residents" project funded by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) and implemented by Action Against Hunger, the first and second payments were disbursed to the four benefiting nurseries, along with verification visits to monitor work progress.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates received the Charge d'Affaires of the People's Republic of China, who delivered three messages from the Chinese Foreign Minister, confirming that the West Bank and Gaza Strip are integral parts of Palestinian territories, and that Israeli annexation attempts undermine the two-state solution, emphasizing the necessity of continuing international efforts to stabilize the ceasefire and push towards reconstruction.
The minister also participated via video link in the extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level and met with a delegation from the Sharek Youth Forum, emphasizing the importance of the youth's role in promoting national participation.
For its part, the ministry condemned the ongoing assaults by the occupation on Al-Aqsa Mosque and its violent closure, imposing restrictions on access to the Old City and places of worship in Jerusalem. It also condemned settler attacks in Masafer Yatta south of Hebron and the village of Abu Flah, warning against the escalating terrorism of settlers in the occupied West Bank.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced the school attendance mechanism during the current period in line with the prevailing conditions and held the periodic meeting for the education sector with international and local partners and supporters. It also revived the events of National Environment Day, conducting 145 awareness meetings targeting 6,500 female students, including displaced students in communities affected by the occupation violations in Jenin and Tulkarem governorates.
The ministry issued guidelines for school counselors to maintain communication with students and provide advisory services remotely, along with completing the first phase of evaluating student participations and projects and determining those qualified for the semifinals in the fourth Palestinian competition for innovation and robotics.
The head of the Energy Authority granted a temporary license to two solar energy projects, the first in Tel Nablus with a capacity of 2000 kilowatts, and the second in the Talouza area of Nablus with a capacity of 1.5 megawatts. He also discussed with the director general of the Palestinian Civil Defense mechanisms to expedite granting safety approvals for solar energy projects and enhance technical coordination and develop standardized guidelines for safety requirements for solar systems to support investment in renewable energy while maintaining the highest public safety standards.
The Environmental Quality Authority conducted 38 monitoring and inspection rounds on industrial facilities and issued 7 permits for importing chemical materials, granted 5 approvals for cell broadcasting stations and an approval for an industrial project, renewed 4 environmental approvals for agricultural projects, and held a meeting with directors general, consultants, and managers of units and offices to discuss institutional work mechanisms and enhance coordination to ensure the continuity of environmental services efficiently. The authority also revived Palestinian National Environment Day in the village of Al-Jib northwest of Jerusalem under the slogan "Volunteering and Protection.. A Sustainable Environment" in partnership with the Al-Jib Women’s Center to promote community participation, volunteer work, and protect the environment and green spaces.
The Public Civil Affairs Authority continues to carry out its humanitarian interventions around the clock to support institutions and citizens amid closures and field restrictions, as the Nabi Elias and Western Hotel gates in Qalqilya were opened without time constraints, facilitating the entry of Iftar meals and food supplies for the staff of the Ibrahimi Mosque within the Old City of Hebron and enabling two families to bury deceased individuals in the Sahla cemetery, alongside securing the entry and return of 30 waste trucks for the Hebron Municipality.
In Jenin, cases of illness and waste trucks were secured to return from Bartaa to the city, enabling the Jabaa Municipality to maintain electricity lines in the contact area, and arranging for the burial of a deceased from the Jenin camp. In Nablus, medical cases were transported with medical teams through the Beit Furik checkpoint. Several entrances to towns in Bethlehem Governorate were opened around the clock without restrictions, including Jorat Al-Sham'ah, Umm Salmuna, Ras Beit Jala, Ish Garab, housing, Wadi Fokin, Al-Minya, the entrance to Al-Manshiyah, and Al-Halaqoum in Tqu’a, in addition to opening road gates in the villages of Al-‘Arqoub, Husan, Battir, and Nahhalin. Infrastructure works were also coordinated, which included planting poles and laying communication cables in Ramoun and Al-Taybeh in area C, repairing a water line near the wall in Bil’in, and starting paving works at the main entrance of Silwad in the Silwad-Yabrud road rehabilitation project, as part of the authority’s continuous follow-up on humanitarian issues to facilitate citizens' movement and service teams’ work.
The Minister of National Economy discussed with the Indian representative to Palestine ways to enhance bilateral relations and follow up on the implementation of the "My Heritage" project. Additionally, Palestine participated in the coordinating meeting of Arab trade ministers in preparation for the World Trade Organization ministerial conference scheduled to be held in Cameroon (March 26-29, 2026). On the ground, the ministry's teams carried out 117 inspection rounds covering 949 shops, seizing about 6 tons of non-compliant goods, issuing 15 legal notices, handling 29 complaints, and taking 9 samples for laboratory testing.
Moreover, 21 companies were registered, 396 services were provided to companies, 19 new traders were registered, and 25 services were rendered in commercial registries, in addition to issuing 135 import licenses, 15 trade cards, 21 certificates of origin, and 25 commercial transactions with Turkey, as well as registering 22 trademarks and providing 45 intellectual property services.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities organized specialized training courses in disaster risk management and first aid to protect the cultural heritage and ensure its continuity, setting fieldwork priorities and coordinating with partners. It also concluded its participation in the international tourism exhibition "ITB" Berlin 2026, where the Palestine pavilion attracted interest from tour operators, affirming Palestine's position as a tourist destination rich in heritage and natural landmarks. The ministry continues its regular tours of archaeological and historical sites and monitoring tourism facilities to ensure their protection and compliance with the law.
The Minister of Interior received the head of the German Representation Office in the State of Palestine at the ministry's headquarters, welcoming her and confirming the ministry's readiness to cooperate and facilitate her tasks. In terms of fieldwork, the police arrested 671 wanted individuals, including 5 dangerous ones, executed 1583 judicial warrants, and dealt with 38 drug control cases and 245 criminal incidents. The Civil Defense executed 84 firefighting missions and 72 rescue tasks, issued 182 permits for facilities and industrial activities, tested and licensed 301 elevators, and conducted 791 public safety inspections. The customs authority followed up on 63 tax and customs evasion cases and destroyed approximately 3.5 tons of expired and non-compliant goods.
The media committee for emergency response in the Ministry of Interior announced that during the period from March 7 to 12, 2026, the teams of police, civil defense, and the Red Crescent dealt with 63 reports related to the shrapnel of shells and their effects, concentrated in Ramallah and Al-Bireh (17), Bethlehem (15), and Nablus (10), along with interventions in other governorates, resulting in 3 injuries and damage to one vehicle and six houses, including a three-story house in Salfit that sustained significant damage.
The Palestinian military liaison carried out 107 humanitarian interventions to facilitate movement, securing the passage of 30 ambulances, opening 65 closed roads and gates, and easing the movement of citizens at checkpoints in 12 cases. The committee urged citizens to exercise caution and avoid tampering with missile shrapnel, adhering to official instructions, and reporting via the numbers: police 100, Red Crescent 101, civil defense 102, customs police 132, and military liaison 163.
The Ministry of Culture implemented a series of cultural and community interventions, notably including the inclusion of "Arabic Kuhl" on the representative list of intangible cultural heritage at UNESCO through a Palestinian file, in addition to organizing creative writing workshops in Ramallah schools as part of the "Friends of the Ministry of Culture" initiative. It also organized cultural, religious, and awareness events in Salfit, including a Ramadan evening, a seminar on violence and social silence, a screening of the Palestinian short film "After", and an artistic activity for children in caricature drawing, as well as a cultural evening for children in Yatta to promote values and reading, and the "Camp Memory.. A Displaced Person's Story" activity in Tulkarem to develop writing skills and encourage reading, along with an interactive cultural evening during Ramadan in Qalqilya.
The Minister of Local Governance, head of the ministerial committee for emergency works, during his visit to the popular committee headquarters in the Old Askar camp, reviewed the conditions of citizens and the nature of the damages caused to homes due to the invasion of occupation forces in the camp. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Governance also discussed with the assistant representative of the UNDP a number of issues related to the local governance sector and work mechanisms for the next phase, foremost among them enhancing the financial sustainability of local bodies, completing financial settlements, urban planning and regulation, digitization and artificial intelligence, supporting "C" areas and rural regions with developmental and improvement projects, and improving solid waste management and supporting this sector in all possible ways due to its importance.
The Ministry of Women's Affairs participated in international and national events and meetings to enhance Palestinian women's issues, where the minister delivered the State of Palestine's speech during the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women "CSW70", highlighting the reality of Palestinian women under occupation and the repercussions of aggression. She also outlined Palestine's experience in developing legislative frameworks and national policies supporting gender equality and challenges related to occupation policies during a side event with UN Women agencies.
At the national level, the minister discussed with the Prime Minister's advisor for international relations ways to enhance women's economic empowerment within the government's efforts to strengthen resilience and development. The ministry also held a lecture in cooperation with the Faculty of Law at An-Najah National University for graduate students regarding the reality of Palestinian women in the constitution, laws, and legislation, and the efforts made to enhance gender justice.
The Minister of Transportation and Communications held a comprehensive meeting with partners such as the Development and Lending Fund for Local Authorities, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the Ministry of Local Governance, the Traffic Police, and the Union of Insurance Companies to formulate a plan to address "black spots" to enhance road safety. The ministry launched a traffic awareness campaign titled "Our Presence Protects You.. Your Speed Hurts You", continuously monitoring weather conditions to ensure vehicle safety. Eight licenses were issued based on a foreign license, while 13 licenses were transferred from Gaza, regular renewals totaled 2,811, and new drivers amounted to 687, while vehicle movements registered: initial registration 190, transfer of ownership 870, re-registration 122, and regular renewal 7,334.
The Minister of Health discussed with the World Health Organization ways to enhance cooperation to address challenges in the health sector in the West Bank and Gaza Strip amid a financial crisis, emphasizing the importance of intensifying international efforts to protect health facilities and medical teams and facilitate medical evacuations for Gaza patients. He also sent a message on the occasion of International Women's Day praising the national and professional role of Palestinian women and the contribution of women in the health sector, reiterating the ministry's commitment to support and empower women and enhance their presence in leadership and decision-making roles.
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing continued to implement a number of projects and interventions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, where work began to pave asphalt in the project of rehabilitating the Silwad-Yabrud road in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, while rehabilitation works on the Umm Al-Safah-Khalet Al-Miita road in Hebron and the road connecting Suleiman Pools and Artas in Bethlehem continued, in addition to leveling, removal, and spreading fill on the Janata-Khalet Al-Haddad road using ministry machinery.
The ministry also issued a tender for the Water Authority to supervise the implementation of the additional water quantities project in Jenin Governorate, and an expression of interest for supervision services for the establishment of wastewater collection networks and treatment plants and reuse systems for the western Jenin villages. In the Gaza Strip, efforts to document the damages continued, where the cumulative number of documented buildings reached 12,490, and 67,795 housing units were damaged, while interventions in the shelter sector began with leveling Sultan land in Beit Lahia over an area of 9 dunums, and completing the leveling of the Tum land over an area of 11 dunums with the support of the UNDP, paving the way for the establishment of shelter centers from RHU units, in addition to completing the installation of 300 tents in Al-Zaytoun camp.
