The Largest Double Attack Since the Beginning of the War: Iranian and Hezbollah Missiles Strike Israel

SadaNews - Israel witnessed a significant escalation in the regional confrontation early Sunday morning, after it was subjected to a simultaneous attack from Iran and Hezbollah, punctuated by waves of missiles and drones targeting areas in the central and southern parts of the country.

Israeli media reported that air raid sirens sounded in several cities, while missile fragments fell in various locations, leading to fires and limited injuries.

The attacks began after midnight when Iranian television announced the launch of missiles toward Eilat in southern Israel, about two hours after explosions were heard in the capital Tehran and the city of Shiraz.

The sounds of explosions were heard in Eilat due to the interception of missiles targeting the city, as Israeli home front officials reported detecting missile launches toward broad areas in central Israel after 3 AM.

Soon after, the newspaper "Israel Hayom" reported on combing operations in multiple locations in central Israel following the fall of missile fragments, while Channel 12 mentioned fires breaking out in Ramla and Holon, in addition to two injuries recorded in Holon, south of Tel Aviv.

Media sources reported that since midnight last night, Iran has launched several missile attacks on Israel, with missiles being fired at various areas in eastern Negev. The bombardment also concentrated on the Dead Sea area, which includes potash factories and several hotels.

After 6 AM Mecca time, the Israeli home front announced the resounding of air raid sirens again due to the detection of a new wave of missiles from Iran, while Al Jazeera's correspondent reported the activation of air raid sirens in the city of Aqaba in Jordan, opposite Eilat.

Channel 12 also reported the fall of missile fragments in five locations in central Israel, while another fragment fell in an agricultural community.

At around 7 AM, sirens echoed in the greater Tel Aviv area, while Channel 12 detected the launch of missiles from Lebanon toward the same area before they were intercepted.

Conversely, the Iranian "Tasnim" agency reported that air defenses shot down an American cruise missile targeting Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, while the "Mehr" agency announced the destruction of at least one target over Tehran. The Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense headquarters stated that Iranian defenses shot down an "Orbiter 4" drone in Tabriz, along with two "Hermes" drones in Tehran and Andimeshk.

The Israeli broadcasting authority reported the arrival of shipments of ammunition to Israel intended for continuing military strikes against Iran, at a time when the authority confirmed that Washington began an air bridge to supply the Israeli army with munitions.

Meanwhile, the "Tasnim" agency mentioned that the American and Israeli attacks on Shiraz targeted residential areas and resulted in civilian injuries.

The Iranian news agency Irna quoted the Iranian border guards' commander saying that any aggression against the country's borders would be met with a decisive response.

Alongside the Iranian attacks, Hezbollah announced carrying out military operations against Israeli army positions along the border and deep within northern Israel.

The party stated that its fighters engaged directly with Israeli forces in the town of Khyam in southern Lebanon, using light and medium weapons and rocket munitions, targeting a gathering of Israeli soldiers in the Avivim post.

Its operations also targeted military bases, strategic locations, and settlements in northern Israel using guided missiles, drones, and artillery shells, destroying a Merkava tank in Taybeh and shooting down an armed Israeli drone in the eastern town of southern Lebanon.
