Grand Mufti: Eid al-Fitr prayer at 6:15 AM

SadaNews - The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, the head of the Supreme Council for Fatwa, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, announced that the time for the Eid al-Fitr prayer for this year 1447 AH will be at six fifteen minutes in the morning, according to winter time.

In a statement issued today, Sunday, the Mufti urged citizens to visit the families of martyrs, wounded, and prisoners, to support them, as well as to connect with their relatives and kin. He reminded citizens of the necessity to hasten the giving of Zakat al-Fitr and their wealth, noting that this year Zakat al-Fitr is estimated at ten shekels, or its equivalent in other currencies, and it must be given before performing the Eid prayer in order to receive its reward, and to ensure that the needy can benefit from it. Delaying it beyond this time transforms it from the status of Zakat al-Fitr to merely a regular charity.
