The Presidency Rejects and Condemns the Dangerous Decisions of the Israeli "Cabinet" to Occupy the Gaza Strip

SadaNews - The Palestinian presidency expressed its strong rejection and condemnation of the dangerous decisions approved by the Israeli "Cabinet" to fully reoccupy the Gaza Strip and forcibly displace nearly one million Palestinians from the city of Gaza and northern Gaza to the south. This represents a complete crime that continues the policy of genocide, systematic killing, starvation, and siege, and constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the resolutions of international legitimacy.

The presidency warned that these Israeli plans, based on killing, starvation, and forced displacement, will lead to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, adding to what the Israeli occupation forces are doing in the West Bank through settlement expansion, annexation of Palestinian land, settler terrorism, assaults on sanctities, and places of worship for Christians and Muslims, along with the confiscation of Palestinian funds and undermining the embodiment of Palestinian state institutions. These are crimes against humanity that threaten regional and international peace and security.

It affirmed that the Palestinian people will not accept a policy of imposition or the enforcement of facts by force, and they are committed to their inalienable national rights, foremost of which is their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In light of this serious escalation, the State of Palestine decided to take urgent contacts with the relevant parties in the world and resolved to immediately head to the United Nations Security Council to demand urgent and binding action to stop these crimes. It also called for emergency meetings of both the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League to coordinate a unified Arab, Islamic, and international stance that ensures the protection of the Palestinian people and halts the aggression. The presidency specifically appealed to U.S. President Donald Trump to intervene to stop the implementation of these decisions and instead fulfill his promise to end the war and pursue lasting peace.

The presidency called on the international community, the United Nations and its agencies, and the International Committee of the Red Cross, to take immediate action to deliver urgent humanitarian aid and fuel without any restrictions or conditions, ensuring that it reaches all our people in the Gaza Strip, especially in light of the forced displacement and the tragic conditions faced by hundreds of thousands of displaced persons.

The presidency reiterated that the only way to stop this tragedy and ensure security and stability is to enable the State of Palestine to assume full responsibility for governance and security in the Gaza Strip, as an integral part of the independent State of Palestine within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and as part of a comprehensive political solution that ends the Israeli occupation and implements the resolutions of international legitimacy.
