Smotrich: We are currently working on erasing the Palestinian state and resettling
SadaNews Translation - Israeli Finance Minister, Minister of Settlement in the Defense Ministry, Bezalel Smotrich, said on Friday that Israel is currently working to erase the Palestinian state.
This came in an interview with "Ofik," a magazine for extremist settlers, where he indicated that he is working on restoring settlements in northern West Bank after they were dismantled following the disengagement decision (withdrawal) from it in 2005.
He said, as SadaNews translated: "We are working to correct the sin of the disengagement (withdrawal) from Gaza and the West Bank, and now the people of Israel are correcting the sin of Gaza, and I hope that we will also be able to complete the correction of the sin of Northern West Bank."
He added: "What is allowed for us at this stage is simply to erase the Palestinian state, and later, with God's help, it will be official, but practically first we will remove this idea from its context as part of the lessons of October 7, and we will establish facts on the ground."
He continued: "I am working on restoring my settlements Ganim and Kadim... We are working on that now, and I hope it will happen in the coming weeks."
Smotrich had visited yesterday the areas of evacuated settlements in northern West Bank, including Sanur, and appeared alongside settler leaders in one of them, writing behind them "Death to Arabs."
