
The occupation expects heavy human losses if it expands its military operations in Gaza
SadaNews - A Hebrew newspaper, Maariv, revealed, citing military sources, that the Israeli army expects to incur significant human losses among its soldiers if the political leadership decides to expand the ongoing military operation in the Gaza Strip.
According to military estimates, completing the occupation of the Strip could take at least three months and would require large-scale operations to destroy the network of tunnels belonging to Palestinian factions. The sources also indicated that the occupation army would subsequently have to impose military rule over the Strip and take charge of the affairs of approximately 2.2 million Palestinians.
The report continued: "The concerns are not limited to the soldiers only, but also include the Israeli prisoners held by the resistance, as estimates suggest that most of them could be killed either by their captors or as a result of airstrikes if the attack is expanded."
The Israeli occupation army is set to present today to the political leadership the "heavy price" that Israel would incur should it decide to proceed toward a complete occupation of the Strip.
