5 Deaths Due to Famine and Malnutrition in the Last 24 Hours
SadaNews - The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced today, Wednesday, the death of 5 citizens due to famine and malnutrition, recorded by hospitals in the Gaza Strip during the last 24 hours.
It reported that the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition has risen to 193 martyrs, including 96 children.
It is noted that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen amid the blockade and shortages of humanitarian and medical supplies, as severe famine intertwines with a genocide campaign being waged by Israel since October 7, 2023.
Since March 2, 2025, the occupation authorities have closed all crossings with the strip, preventing the entry of most food and medical aid, leading to the spread of famine within the strip.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) had warned that malnutrition among children under five had doubled between March and June due to the ongoing blockade.
The World Health Organization confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached alarming levels, and that the deliberate blockade and delays in aid have caused many deaths, with nearly one in five children under five in Gaza City suffering from severe malnutrition.
