Trump: I Cannot Say Anything About the Occupation of Gaza, It Is Up to Israel

SadaNews - On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged the food and hunger crisis in the Gaza Strip and spoke about providing a package of aid, while commenting on media reports that mentioned Israeli plans to occupy the entire region.

In statements to reporters at the White House, Trump said, "Clearly, the residents of the Strip are not getting enough food, and we are trying to secure food for them, and Israel will help us with the distribution."

The U.S. President added, "There is currently an effort to feed people in Gaza, and we have allocated $60 million for providing food in Gaza."

The starvation of Palestinians in Gaza due to the Israeli blockade and the genocide war has reached unprecedented levels recently, according to local and international reports, with deaths due to malnutrition and dehydration increasing. The total number of martyrs reached 189, including 95 children, according to medical sources in the Strip.

Occupation of Gaza

Regarding the several Israeli reports earlier on Tuesday about the occupation of the Gaza Strip, Trump said, "I cannot say anything about that; it is up to Israel."

The government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - who is wanted by the International Criminal Court - hinted at carrying out new military plans as part of the genocide war in the Gaza Strip, which could include the full occupation of the region or the occupation of Gaza City and the central area camps, or surrounding them and conducting operations in areas believed to have Israeli captives.

Since October 2023, the Israeli occupation army - with American support - has been waging a genocidal war against the residents of the Gaza Strip, which has resulted so far in the martyrdom of more than 61,000 Palestinians, the injury of more than 150,000, and the displacement of nearly all of the Strip's population, amid unprecedented destruction since World War II, according to documented Palestinian and international reports.
