The War in Gaza Triggers a Stormy Confrontation Between Netanyahu and Zameer During Security Consultation Session

Translation by SadaNews - Major Hebrew television channels reported this Tuesday evening in the main bulletin that the security consultation session held by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the occupation of the Gaza Strip was tense and very heated between him and Chief of Staff Eyal Zameer.

According to the Hebrew channel Keshet 12, as translated by SadaNews, Zameer described the plan to occupy Gaza as one that would put the Israeli army in a strategic trap that it would not withstand.

Netanyahu asked Zameer to present a plan to the expanded cabinet next Thursday for the occupation of the Gaza Strip, to which Zameer angrily responded, confirming that he had presented it and that this was his plan (details of which were not disclosed).

Netanyahu ended the discussion with Zameer by asking the latter to make additions and improvements to the presented plan for voting next Thursday.

Prior to that, Zameer addressed the statements made against him by Netanyahu and his son Yair, where the Israeli Prime Minister told his Chief of Staff: "Don't threaten to resign in the media. I do not accept that you always threaten to leave if we do not accept your plans. My son is 33 years old, he is a mature man and responsible for his actions."

In another report, the channel mentioned that Netanyahu intends to present the plan for a vote to the cabinet next Thursday regarding the occupation of the sector and to expand operations, especially in the city of Gaza and the refugee camp areas in the center of the sector.

Netanyahu affirmed in the session that this is the way to release the captives and that negotiations with Hamas have failed, as the channel mentioned and translated by SadaNews.

Meanwhile, other Hebrew channels, including 12 and 13, presented similar details, where Zameer confirmed that the occupation of the sector could endanger the lives of Israeli prisoners, while Netanyahu considered the approach that Israel previously attempted until now to have been unsuccessful.

Channel 13 reported that Zameer suggested a complete siege of the city of Gaza and the central area, engaging in limited ground maneuvers, and increasing pressure on Hamas through a series of operations and intensifying air operations.
