Olmert: We have become a pariah state, and what is happening is unacceptable and unforgivable
SadaNews - Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert expressed his deep concern regarding the current policies being pursued by Israel, emphasizing that it has become a "pariah state" on the international stage due to its actions against the Palestinians.
Olmert noted to Politico the increasing gap between the atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7 and what Israel is currently doing, considering what is happening as "unacceptable and unforgivable."
He strongly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and some members of the ruling coalition for using the accusation of anti-Semitism as a means to defend themselves against legitimate accusations of excessive use of force.
Olmert described the accusations directed at French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer of anti-Semitism or supporting terrorism as "ridiculous," asserting that there are Palestinian partners with whom negotiations can be made, yet Israel continuously works to undermine the moderates among them.
Olmert concluded his remarks by warning that the continuation of this approach may provoke international intervention, pointing out that former U.S. President Donald Trump may have to step in at some point to halt the escalation.
