Decline in Israelis' Trust in Netanyahu, the Government, and the Army Amid Ongoing War on Gaza

SadaNews - A survey conducted by the Israeli National Security Studies Institute revealed a sharp decline in citizens' trust in the performance of the Israeli government and its military institutions, in light of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and its continuing repercussions.

The survey showed that trust in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has fallen to just 30%, while the government received only 23% of the public's confidence, a new negative indicator reflecting the erosion of public trust in political leadership.

According to the results, the trust of Israelis in the Israeli army has notably decreased, with only 77% expressing confidence in the military institution, compared to 83% in a previous survey conducted last May. Trust in the Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Eyal Zamir, reached only 62%.

Regarding the ongoing military operations in Gaza, 61% of Israelis believe that these operations will not lead to the recovery of the hostages, while only 25% believe they may result in defeating Hamas and achieving the army's objectives.

Moreover, 52% of the survey participants held the government responsible for obstructing efforts to reach a prisoner exchange deal. On a humanitarian level, only 36% of Israelis expressed concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, while 62% stated that they are not worried about this issue.
