Saudi and Jordanian Condemnation of Ben Gvir's Provocative Incursion into Al-Aqsa

SadaNews - The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the incursion of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the occupying police, describing it as a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, an unacceptable provocation, and a condemned escalation, stressing that Israel has no sovereignty over the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Sufian al-Qudah, affirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of Minister Ben Gvir's ongoing unacceptable incursions and the facilitation by the occupying police of repeated incursions by extremist settlers into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, considering it a blatant violation of the historical and legal status quo in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and an attempt to temporally and spatially divide it, as well as a desecration of its sanctity.

Ambassador al-Qudah warned of the consequences of the continuation of these provocative and illegal violations of Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem, calling on Israel, as the occupying power, to halt all provocative practices by extremist Ben Gvir, which are a continuation of the extremist Israeli government's policy aimed at further escalating the dangerous unilateral actions in the occupied West Bank and violating the sanctity of Islamic and Christian sanctities in occupied Jerusalem.

He emphasized that the entire area of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, measuring 144 dunams, is a purely worship place for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Endowments and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is the legal body with exclusive jurisdiction over the management of Al-Aqsa Mosque affairs and regulating access to it.

For its part, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the provocative practices by officials of the Israeli occupation government against Al-Aqsa Mosque violate laws and inflame conflict in the region.
