6 Deaths Due to Famine and Malnutrition in the Last 24 Hours

SadaNews - The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced the death of 6 individuals, all adults, as a result of famine and malnutrition, reported by hospitals in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours.

This brings the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition to 175, including 93 children.

It is worth noting that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen amidst the ongoing blockade and shortage of food and medical supplies, as severe famine intersects with a genocide being committed by Israel since October 7, 2023.

Since March 2, 2025, the occupying authorities have closed all crossings with the Gaza Strip, preventing the entry of most food and medical aid, which has led to the spread of famine in the area.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) had warned that malnutrition among children under five had doubled between March and June due to the continuing blockade.

The World Health Organization confirmed that the rates of malnutrition in Gaza have reached alarming levels, and that the intentional blockade and delays in aid have caused many lives to be lost, with nearly one in five children under five in Gaza City suffering from acute malnutrition.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, the occupying power, has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip that includes killing, starving, destroying, and displacing, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to cease these actions.

The genocide has resulted in more than 209,000 martyrs and injured, the majority of whom are children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals and famine that has claimed many lives.
