Palestinian government appeals to the international community to uphold its responsibilities and pressure for the opening of crossings with the Gaza Strip
SadaNews - The Palestinian government has issued an urgent appeal to the international community and its humanitarian institutions to increase pressure on the Israeli occupation to open the crossings of the Gaza Strip for the entry of aid trucks, which are piling up in the thousands around Gaza, at a time when food insecurity levels have reached 100% according to reports from specialized UN institutions, and to halt the escalating use of hunger as a weapon against the people of the besieged area who are facing a genocide.
On Saturday, the Palestinian government praised the ongoing efforts of international humanitarian institutions that are providing their contributions to our starving people in Gaza, especially in light of the need to secure more resources necessary to continue relief operations on a broader scale as soon as larger quantities of aid can be allowed in and a ceasefire can be established.
The government expressed its high appreciation for the joint coordination between Jordan, the UAE, France, Spain, and Germany, which led to the dropping of aid packages by air over the area amidst the escalating hunger crisis, which has reached unprecedented dangerous and catastrophic levels.
