Russia: 60 Ukrainian Drones Shot Down Last Night Over Several Areas
SadaNews - The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, Friday, the destruction of 60 Ukrainian drones during the night by its air defense systems over several areas.
The ministry stated in a press release: "During the night from 23:30 Moscow time on July 31 to 04:10 Moscow time on August 1, the operational air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 60 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles," according to the Russian news agency Sputnik.
The statement added that "31 drones were destroyed in the Belgorod region, 12 in the Rostov region, 5 in the Krasnodar territory, 4 over the Black Sea basin, 3 in the Voronezh region, 2 in the Lipetsk region, 2 in the Tula region, and 1 over the waters of the Sea of Azov."
In a related context, the death toll from the Russian missile and drone attacks targeting the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, on Thursday morning has risen to 26 dead and 159 injured, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs on Friday.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs stated in a post on Telegram that "during the night and this morning, rescue teams retrieved 10 bodies from under the rubble of the residential building in the Svyatoshinsky area," noting that the shelling also injured 159 individuals.
