Netanyahu to Ben Gvir: "Voluntary Migration" from Gaza Within Weeks if No Agreement is Reached

SadaNews Translation - The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has recently intensified practical steps in favor of the voluntary migration of Gaza residents, aiming to keep Israeli Minister Itamar Ben Gvir in the government.

Netanyahu promised Ben Gvir that if no agreement is reached, Israel will begin "voluntary migration" for thousands of Gazans to other countries within weeks.

The newspaper noted that Netanyahu held meetings in which he instructed the Mossad to expedite communications with countries that are potential hosts for Palestinians from Gaza.

It quoted a senior government official saying: "Netanyahu is intensely involved in the matter, and this is how he tries to convince Ben Gvir not to withdraw from the government."

As part of the communications Israel has made, agreements have been reached with five countries that will accept migrants from Gaza, according to the Hebrew newspaper.

Yedioth highlighted that the new development is that the exit will be through Israel and then to Jordan - not through Egypt.

The Hebrew report continued: "Journalist Barak Ravid recently reported that Israel is in talks with Ethiopia, Libya, and Indonesia, and as mentioned, there are other countries with which Israel is having discussions. The head of the Mossad even talked about this issue with U.S. envoy Steve Wietkoff and other American officials."

The head of the Mossad, who is currently in the United States, informed the Americans that these countries have expressed openness to absorbing large numbers of Palestinians from Gaza and requested U.S. help in providing incentives to these countries in exchange for their willingness to absorb Gazans, according to the report.

In an effort to keep Minister Bezalel Smotrich in the government, Netanyahu promised him to enhance the annexation of certain areas in the Gaza Strip if no agreement is reached, with the first area designated for annexation being the northern border.
