Egyptian Media: Egyptian Aid Trucks Head Toward Gaza Strip
SadaNews - Egyptian media reported that humanitarian aid trucks began moving from Egypt toward the Gaza Strip in the early hours of this Sunday morning.
The "Cairo News" channel stated that the aid trucks heading to the Gaza Strip via the Rafah crossing are carrying food supplies and materials for infrastructure rehabilitation.
Egyptian aid trucks had appeared in videos preparing to enter the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced on Sunday that "based on political directives, the Defense Forces deployed humanitarian aid last night as part of efforts to transfer it to the region."
It added that "the drop operation, carried out in cooperation with international organizations and led by the Government Coordination Unit, involved seven aid platforms containing flour, sugar, and canned food. "
According to earlier reports from Egyptian sources, 166 aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip over the past two days from the Zikim and Kerem Shalom crossings.
The aid includes shipments of flour, food items, and medical supplies.
Sources also confirmed that Egypt is intensifying its efforts with all international parties to allow more aid into the Gaza Strip during this critical time, amid a hunger crisis that the residents of the area are suffering from.
