Martyrs in Two Israeli Airstrikes on Tyre District in Southern Lebanon
SadaNews - Three people were martyred on Saturday in two Israeli airstrikes, the first targeting a vehicle on the Al-Tuwairi - Sarifa road, and the other in the vicinity of the town of Dabeel in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon. This marks a new violation of the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah, which took effect on November 27, 2024.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that two martyrs resulted from an Israeli bombardment targeting the town of Dabeel, and a few hours earlier, it announced one martyr from an Israeli airstrike that targeted a vehicle on the road between the towns of Al-Tuwairi and Sarifa.
The Israeli army stated in a statement that it killed "a commander in the Hezbollah sector of Bint Jbeil," Ali Abdul Qader Ismail, attributing to him involvement in "attempts to rebuild Hezbollah's capabilities in the Bint Jbeil area, as his activities constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon."
The official Lebanese news agency reported, citing the emergency operations center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health, that "the Israeli drone struck a vehicle on the Al-Tuwairi - Sarifa road in the Tyre district, resulting in one martyr."
Earlier on Saturday, the agency mentioned that "the Israeli drone struck a vehicle in the village of Al-Tuwairi between the towns of Al-Ghandouriya and Sarifa in Tyre."
In a related context, the agency stated that "the Israeli drone flew at a low altitude over the towns of Qasmiya, Azarir, and Ansar in the Saida district of southern Lebanon."
It added that "an Israeli hostile drone of the Hermes 900 type flew at a medium altitude over the skies of the towns of Arab Salim, Haboush, and Al-Wadi Al-Akhdar in the Nabatieh governorate in southern Lebanon."
On Friday, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that a person was martyred in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a vehicle in the town of Barashit in the Bint Jbeil district in the south, while a member of the municipal council of Al-Dahayra, Bassam Suwaid, was seriously injured due to the army shooting at him.
For its part, the spokesperson for the Israeli army claimed that the strike on the town of Barashit resulted in the "death of Muhammad Hassan Qassan, the human resources officer for the Bint Jbeil area in Hezbollah."
No immediate comment was issued by Lebanese Hezbollah regarding what was mentioned by the Israeli spokesperson.
These developments come amid rising tensions on the southern front, and repeated Israeli airstrikes targeting civilian areas despite the ceasefire agreement in effect since late 2024.
