Colonists Set Fire to Homes in Bethlehem and Storm al-Awja Waterfall
Translation and Follow-up by SadaNews - On Saturday morning, colonists set fire to 6 homes of Palestinians in the Kisan village in Bethlehem.
According to the Hebrew channel Reshet Kan, as translated by SadaNews, the prevailing suspicion is that elements from the Hilltop Youth are behind the attack, which resulted in no injuries but caused property damage.
It was noted that an Israeli military force arrived in the village and detained 12 colonists living in a nearby settlement who are suspected of having started the fire after they were found inside the village.
In a related context, colonists stormed the al-Awja waterfall village north of Jericho in the morning, grazing their livestock within residential areas and in the fields.
The General Supervisor of the Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, Hassan Malihat, explained that colonists from colonial outposts near the al-Awja waterfall village stormed the gathering and released their livestock in farmers' lands, causing damage to the pastures owned by the residents.
He pointed out that this year, the colonists have increased their measures of restriction on citizens in the Bedouin gatherings in al-Awja, in order to exploit water resources and force residents to relocate forcibly.
